10-12-11

Report cards go home today during homeroom. Parent conferences will be tomorrow from 3:30 - 6:30 and Friday from 11:45-12:30.

Ever had a bad day and wish someone could make it better? Does the idea of coming to school bum you out? Do you wish someone would show a little compassion in the hallways? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then FREE HUGS Day is for you! What started as one man’s quest to spread happiness has become a worldwide movement, and East is taking part! The goal of Free Hugs day is to help brighten people’s day, take the weight off your shoulders, bring a smile to your face, and generally show that there are people that do care in the world. On Thursday, students will be stationed throughout East wearing Free Hugs shirts or holding signs. If you wish to give these students a quick, PDA-free hug, then please feel free! Don’t worry, no one will chase you down for a hug, and the hugs will be simple, quick, and heart-felt.

For more information on the start of the Free Hugs movement, visit www.freehugscampaign.org. If you have questions, please see Ms. Erin Leatherman.
